1. Integrity and Honesty
All members, attendees, board members, and participants are expected to:
✔ Conduct themselves with honesty, integrity, and professionalism.
✔ Provide truthful and accurate information when sharing ideas, feedback, and resources.
✔ Avoid misrepresenting their own or others’ inventions, achievements, or expertise.
2. Respect and Inclusivity
IAA is an inclusive community that values diversity and respect. We do not tolerate:
✘ Harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate behavior based on race, gender, religion, age, disability, or any other protected status.
✘ Verbal abuse, intimidation, or disrespectful conduct toward other members, guests, or board members.
✘ Disruptive behavior that interferes with the learning environment or professional discourse.
All members and attendees must treat one another with courtesy and professionalism at all times.
3. Intellectual Property & Confidentiality
As a community of inventors, we respect intellectual property rights. To uphold ethical standards:
✔ Members must honor confidentiality when requested by other inventors.
✔ Unauthorized use, copying, or misrepresentation of another inventor’s work is strictly prohibited.
✔ IAA does not provide Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), and attendees are responsible for securing legal protections for their own inventions.
4. Ethical Business Practices
IAA encourages ethical business behavior and prohibits:
✘ Fraud, deception, or misleading claims related to inventions, patents, or business opportunities.
✘ Conflicts of interest that compromise the integrity of IAA’s mission.
✘ Solicitation or unauthorized promotion of products, services, or investments during meetings without approval.
All members should engage in transparent, fair, and ethical business practices.
5. Commitment to Education and Collaboration
IAA is a community dedicated to supporting inventors through education, mentorship, and networking. Members should:
✔ Share knowledge in a constructive and supportive manner.
✔ Encourage collaboration while respecting individual ideas and contributions.
✔ Use their expertise to uplift others rather than exploit or take advantage of fellow inventors.
6. Compliance with Laws and Regulations
All IAA activities, including meetings, presentations, and business transactions, must comply with:
✔ U.S. intellectual property laws, including patent, trademark, and copyright regulations.
✔ Ethical standards set forth by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
✔ Applicable state and federal laws regarding business, trade, and professional conduct.
7. Reporting Violations
If any member, attendee, or participant witnesses or experiences unethical behavior, they are encouraged to report it to IAA leadership. Reports can be made:

8. Enforcement and Consequences
Violations of this Ethics Policy may result in:
- Warnings or guidance to correct behavior.
- Temporary suspension from meetings or events.
- Termination of membership or permanent removal from IAA.
IAA reserves the right to take necessary action to protect the integrity and mission of the organization.
